OSPREY MEN'S BASKETBALL FEATURED IN TWO COMCAST/CHARTER SPORTS SOUTHEAST A-SUN GAMES OF THE WEEK - US Fed News Service, Including US State News

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Sept. 30 -- The University of North Florida issued the following news release:

The Atlantic Sun Conference and Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast (CSS) announced the schedule of games for their popular CSS A-Sun Game of the Week television package, marking the eighth consecutive year of A-Sun men's basketball being featured in primetime.

The University of North Florida is featured twice during the nine-week programming schedule, including the opening game on Friday, Jan. 8, at 7 p.m. when UNF and new head coach Matthew Driscoll travel south to take on Florida Gulf Coast. The Ospreys will also be featured at home against cross-town rival Jacksonville in a River City Rumble matchup on Friday, Jan. 29, at 7 p.m. at UNF Arena.

'The matchups tabbed for broadcast promise to deliver exciting contests and each game provides a valuable opportunity to showcase our outstanding basketball teams, and more importantly, the dynamic member institutions in the A-Sun,'

Matt Stewart and Sonny Smith return as the voices for the broadcasts. The CSS A-Sun Game of the Week makes up just a portion of the Atlantic Sun's entire television package and other games will be added to the television schedule throughout the year. UNF opens its season with a home exhibition game vs. Ave Maria (Ave Maria, Fla.) on Thursday, Nov. 5, at 7 p.m. at UNF Arena. After Driscoll's UNF coaching debut, the Ospreys travel to Notre Dame, Ind. to face the Fighting Irish in the regular season opener on Saturday, Nov. 14. North Florida returns to Jacksonville for its home opener vs. Savannah State on Wednesday, Nov. 18, at 7 p.m. at UNF Arena.

The regular season will conclude with the Atlantic Sun Championship on March 3-6 in Macon, Ga.

A season ticket for basketball is $120 and includes all men's and women's home games, a total of 28 games on 19 event dates, including nine Atlantic Sun Conference double headers. A special rate is available for UNF Alumni ($110) and UNF Faculty and Staff ($105). A Family 4-pack is also available for the season at $360. Select seating areas require an Osprey Club membership (per seat donation).

Single-game pricing is $10. Children 2-and-under and any current UNF student with a valid Osprey1 Card are admitted free. Student guest passes are $5 and limited to one per student.

UNF just completed the final year of the four-year reclassification period to a full-fledged member of Division I athletics.
