The Albany Conquest will meet the Macon (Ga.) Knights at Pepsi Arena in the quarterfinals of the arenafootball2 playoffs on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
Fourth-seeded Macon (10-6) advanced with a 42-35 victory over Florida in a first-round game in Macon on Saturday night.
Second-seeded Albany (13-3) had a first-round bye and didn't play this weekend.
Macon and Albany have never met. The Knights are coached by Kevin Porter, who spent five years in the NFL as a safety for the Kansas City Chiefs and New York Jets.
Albany's Pete Costanza coached against Porter last year when Costanza was with the Columbus (Ga.) Wardogs of af2.
``When I think of Kevin Porter's football teams, I think of a team that plays real good defense and they don't make mistakes offensively,'' Costanza said. ``They're a team that's well-disciplined.''
The Conquest would have played Cape Fear in the quarterfinals, but the third-seeded Wildcats were upset 50-47 by Mohegan on Saturday night. Instead, sixth-seeded Mohegan will play at top-seeded Tennessee Valley on Friday.
