MACON STATE SENIOR TO ANNOUNCE AT STATE CHAMPIONSHIP FOOTBALL GAME - US Fed News Service, Including US State News

MACON, Ga., Dec. 5 -- The University System of Georgia Macon State College issued the following news release:

Nic Bell, a new media and communications major at Macon State, will do some of the color commentary during the state Class AAA championship football game at the Georgia Dome at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10. Bell, who will announce the game for Grid Iron Game of the Week, got the opportunity through the sportscasting internship he is doing this semester as part of the new media (NMAC) program.

Bell covered his alma mater, Peach County High School, for Grid Iron during the regular season. The team made it to the AAA championship. 'We are lucky to be able to broadcast out of the Georgia Dome this weekend,' Bell said. 'It's a good opportunity for me and a good opportunity for Macon State.'

Bell, 22, played football and baseball for Peach County High and is now a senior at Macon State. When he completes his bachelor's degree in May 2012, he hopes to go to graduate school to study mass communications. His goal is a journalism career writing about sports or pop culture.

To listen to Bell on Saturday, go online at gridirongameoftheweek.com beginning about 3:30 p.m.
